Hi Zarir

Depends on how the club defines a newbie, as I have never actually been on a drive with the club I assumed that meant I was a newbie.

All the other events I have seen listed (The ones I was available to attend) I couldn't because I didn't have the required number of drives.

So what does define a "newbie"
Hi Earthman

This link might help you to understand the grading system in the club.

Yes sometimes you need to wait for a CM drive a little bit long depends on the time you join the club (I was one of them) but there are a lot of activities you can join in the club during this time which you can enjoy camps making new friends etc.

And it worth it :)

Cheers

Dear Earthman,

Welcome to the club and good to see that you are looking forward to actually start driving with the club. However before you do that it is important that you go through some critical threads on the forum. There is a world of info out that that shall be useful to you and answer a number of queries that you might already have, or are likely to have going forward. Please see the link below for a set of such very important threads. This includes a thread on 'Member Grading System' which is related to your current query:

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Ok So as a Club Member with no drives - I cannot attend attend a Newbie drive for people with 1 to 5 drives.

Kind of makes it very difficult to progress especially when you cannot attend most of the events per year. I have ongoing commitments on Fridays and as such am unable to attend most events especially given the short notice. This particular event being listed last night.

@Earthman

One more suggestion. If you are determined to do offroading prepare the minimum required equipment before the CM drive and ask one of Marshals to check it so you can get your first star (Hopefully) after the CM drive.

You can find more detailed information about some of these tools listed in the previous link below

Yes I can understand you. I joined this club 3 months ago and I have 2 official drives :) (1 of them is the CM drive) . But looking back these 3 months there were a lot of exiting activities which I had join and enjoyed .Met a lot of nice people and learned a lot from others.

Yes it is hard to wait I admit but worth it :)

Dear Nawras,

Please check with our marshals whether your status is Club Member or Newbie, if still Club Member you won't be able to register for this trip as per trip requirement.

Where are Intermediates in the registration? Guys, 5+ Newbie drive is actually between Newbie and Intermediate level. This is purposely managed, that later when these 5+ guys became Intermediates, they know what they can expect and are not a burden in Intermediate convoy. Did you forget already?

Hi Guys,

I hope it's considered that the drive starts after Friday prayers and the meeting point has a mosque nearby.
