@Rashidjass and @Scorpio : great organization and choice of routes and area! I am grateful for your time spent on planning it! Thank you for sharing this place with us! These dunes were fantastic ! I had so much fun and my fair dose of sand for the week!
@Rashidjass : it was an honor to drive behind your lead, I felt your choice of lines were just the right fit for our convoy level and allowed us to have a smooth paced drive. This demonstrates how great observant you are, from all these drives you spend watching over us from the top of your dunes!
@testMabubaker : thank you for your support and presence that brought this feeling of safety. Looking forward for your lead next week!


Dear drive members (inter and advanced),
I missed your faces so much! It was a great camp where I laughed a lot! I am grateful I was able to join the fun and spend this wonderful time with you!

Special thank you @Msharhan for the egg wrap and Karak, @Ehab for the delicious coffee, @AhmadHasan for your special tea, @Paddy for helping me inflate my mattress, @Mostafa for the hospitality, juices, chips, water, @Mghoneim for being my eternal rescuer , @David for the laugh and support (you nearly killed me with your joke).

My own reflections on the trip,
It was a successful drive in my opinion and from my personal experience. I felt relax, entertained and didn’t have this feeling of tension or struggle during the drive. An extra touch of focus was required in certain areas and moments of the drive but overall I didn’t feel I needed to be 100% of the time on my guard, tensed and « sweating ». I had my rush of adrenaline (the one I am addicted to). These, for me, are good indicators that my level and this drive were a good match (and I am opened to receive feedback on that… please feel free to comment cause I don’t see myself driving).
I did made a few mistakes, sharp turns it seems, got crested, and had one stuck in soft sand. If there is one thing I can tell about my driving attitude that would require improvement is that I need to learn to calm down my excitement. I enjoy way too much driving in high dunes, cresting, crossing big bowls… and I am very fierce about it.

Dear Almosters,

This is my first ever attempt to reach a camp during day light, I started driving towards Umm Al Zumool around 3:30, however I stopped many times on the way for petrol and looking for my favourite ginger bev which was surprisingly out of stock everywhere. Arrived to the entrance gate around 6:30 (already pitch black) and I knew only @Moustafa19 was at the camp.

I managed to see his tracks and decided to follow them until I saw the tracks going in circles in an interesting bowl and then I though I should find my own tracks. Arrived to the camp and started the fire and chit-chatted with @Moustafa19 till all advanced and intermediate drivers arrived except @Msharhan . As usual we had a night full of laughter around the fire until I decided to go get some sleep, on my way to find a flat area to camp I met @Msharhan in need of some help, nad that was my recovery warm up.

As the weather was no cold enough (Surprisingly) I decided to sleep in the car, and as it is not that comfortable it took me some time to sleep. Woke up around 7:30, prepared my car and headed back to the meeting point. fast breakfast, then briefing.

Our convoy was lead by @Rashidjass , myself as a second lead , @AhmadHasan sweeping, & @alshamsi_m floating. It was cloudy and winter vibes were in the air, so I was looking forward to drive in that amazing weather but soon enough we had our very first popout :( with @Moustafa19 .

after fixing the popout, we continued the track for a while then rashid drove through the sabkha towards another chain and said that was a warm up and now we will start the track (Already 1/4 gone :D). By the looks of the dune ahead , I can smell the adrenaline that we are about to have.

We continued playing around until the lunch time where we met with the advanced long convoy of 2 marshals and 2 advanced members. After lunch @Rashidjass , @Scorpio & @Mabubakr decided to join forces and drive both convoys together.

For me the real fun started right after lunch where we were challenging some monster dunes, soft sands , not to mention some thirsty FJs. Before we leave , @Mabubakr suggested one last location to be touched before we leave and that was the cherry on top, a magical part of the chain with beautiful dunes and for the next hour or so we can only hear one thing RATATATATATATATATATATATATA.


Unfortunately the drive came to an end, it took me a while to believe that. This was remarkably one of the top drives I had with Almost 4x4 .

Good morning everyone

Finally the far camping season has started, we had a beautiful night around the fire chatting and the new intermediates tell us the stories how they reached the camp site.

The morning started with some fog and clouds around us but our leading marshal @Rashidjass and @Scorpio began on time.

The drive was smooth with no major issues and everyone came back home safe and sound. Also, the area was generous and gave us what we wanted!!!

What a magical trip and place

the plan was to try to reach the camp before the dark with @Aljamhi & @AhmadHasan
but we couldn’t
I was driving from AUH and they was coming from Dubai , So when i reached (around 5:45 ) they was far around 1 hr , and they have advised me to wait them or wait @alshamsi_m and @Mghoneim as they are close by , to enter the camp with them

I was looking to the sand and couldn’t resist the challenge specially i have never drive alone in night :)

i started when stell can see my way , but after few minutes was full of dark , and it was challenged to find my way especially when passing big bowl , I have stepped 2 times out of the car to see and choose my direction

Finaly i have reached around 6:45 and i was so happy , as no one was at the camp !! I was checking the point in my GPS 100 times

after some time @Mghoneim reached followed by @AhmadHasan & @Aljamhi soon @alshamsi_m arrived and after some time, all reached together except @Msharhan who came latter

Was beautiful night and company around the

Next day the amazing trip started, and it was like dream , with the dunes shape , hights and the natural of the sand

time was fling but we couldn’t feel that we are done , we need more and more

before the end of the drive my Alternator was not work , but @Rashidjass told me no worries enjoy will manage to take you back

so was playing until car did , then @Rashidjass .gives me his battery and take main to charge it in his car , and all the way back to Dubai we did this 4 times

Heads Will Roll II

The name said it all—this wasn’t going to be your average drive . And @Rashidjass ? Well, he made sure we got exactly what was promised: thrills, spills, and a whole lot of memories!

After dinner, I arrived at the camping area with @Rashidjass , @Scorpio , and @Ely . The bonfire was already lit, and everyone was cozied up, sharing stories and laughs. The night had a crisp chill to it, which felt amazing—until I stepped on a dried bush. It pierced my foot just enough to make me wince, adding a touch of drama to an otherwise serene evening.

With excitement for the next day buzzing in the air, we set up our tents under a sky sprinkled with stars. But just as I was about to settle in, I realized I had forgotten one tiny detail: my sleeping bag. Yup, classic me! Enter @Ely , my hero for the night, armed with a blanket and pillow. Big shoutout to @Ely for saving me from turning into a human popsicle.

The morning brought its own twist—one of the advanced drivers had to bow out due to mechanical issues. But the show must go on! @Rashidjass fired up the convoy, and from the first dune, it was clear he was in beast mode. The landscape was stunning, the pace was exhilarating, and adrenaline was pumping through every turn.

The action didn’t stop there. Over the radio, we heard our founder @alshamsi_m report a small incident, which the marshals handled with their usual finesse. Unfortunately, one intermediate driver had to cut their adventure short, but the rest of us carried on with unstoppable energy.

Then came the highlight (and lowlight) of my day. @Mabubaker suggested tackling a chain of dunes, and I thought, Why not? Three failed attempts later, I was introduced to the magic of 4L. It was like my car transformed from “Clark Kent” into “Superman.” Suddenly, I was unstoppable—or so I thought. With all that newfound power, I managed to slice my rear tire in a classic “FJ Cut.” Lesson learned: with great power comes great responsibility… and great tire damage.

Driving in 4L was a whole new game, and I realized it requires a different kind of handling compared to 4H. But hey, every drive is a new learning opportunity, and this one was no exception.

By the end, I was already looking forward to the next adventure. This drive wasn’t just memorable—it was hands-down the best I’ve had with the club.

A huge thank-you to everyone who joined and made this experience so special. Here’s to many more drives filled with challenges, laughter, and lessons learned!
