Dear newbies, don't be afraid to get stuck and learn from your situation always.
Here I would like to share with you few moments of my first drive to desert with my new car. So we both were newbies. Until today I'm very thankfull for all the stucks I got before and that I could learn from every situation and promised myself to have no repeated events.
The beginning is always the same for everybody. Deflating...

The first stuck, very basic. Horizontally standing on the dune. I couldn't move forewards or backwards.

Next stuck, driving up... And as matter of trainig a bit of shoveling...

And shoveling...

So what now?

Maybe shoveling again?

Enough, now pulling...
At the end, after similar situations, I'm sure, you will be happy, conquering dunes as easy as you are driving and controlling your car today in any common situation on any common road.

See you in the desert soon ! :045::051:

LOL....it was mostly because of those tires you had on that car .....with better tires you would probably not have got into some of those pickles

Wasif, you got the point by 100%. Those tyres were original ones, and the pressure in the tyres was also almost original, maybe around 20psi, measured with 5 Dhs Carrefour pressure gauge. :011: Totally newbie in Liwa, without a single practice in small dunes; that time Al Awir was not challenging at all for me. I was tarmac expert, knowing how to drive in theory, but without any clue about car preparation.
Probably you noticed some of my blogs about tyre pressure and tyres. :005: The school of life cannot be paid with any money.

Agree with you....no amount of theory will ever stand up to hands on experience

Hello Caprihorse
Thanks for this topic ... you made my weekend ... specially the 5th picture ... I laughed like hell :027: .... after all ... it is all true ... all of the senior off-roaders started Newbies .... they are just lucky to enter the desert before the others and learn ... but no one is an expert from the begining ... that is why we called our club ALMOST4X4 which means ... you keep learning in every drive & we are all the same ... Sometimes I wonder when I see senior off-roader getting pest off when a new person gets stuck :013: .... I don't know why they forget that they were newbies :055:
Thanks Buddy
