Hello Everyone
Due to summer timing and last-minute shifting to the drive time and date, I lost all the supporting marshals
. Nevertheless, I had full confidence that I have a well trained members for rescue support and advance drivers so I changed my strategy, I accepted more RESCUE TEAM to manage the miss I'm planning to do
We had the highest score of stuck which was 22 cars in three hours. This year we managed to score 23 in ONE hour
I would say : hat off for all the brave newbies who are under 10 drives who decided to go through this event and all the supporting team who made this event another successful drive
all credits for @nidal78
See you in the Rescue the Marshals to learn how to get out of all the above stucks
Stay safe and keep the sand flying
Cheers
Shamsi

My dear Almosters, this was my third F13 and @alshamsi does not disappoint us year after year.
My first F13, i got stuck 2 times, last year i was floating and i remember a driver got stuck 45 seconds after the start, others asked to be escorted midway and did not have the courage to end the trip.
This year, we had very brave drivers, getting stuck or doing second try did not stop them from going back to the track and learn. Hats off, despite the 30+ stucks, many many second tries, we had no major incidents and all drivers made it to the end.
The area was extremely challenging, many soft sand spots and huge number of bushes all around, floating was not easy at all specially trying to capture all the action

Looking forward attending the next F13

My Dear Desert Friends,
I haven't been much to the desert lately (function of very busy work schedule colliding with less frequent intermediate drives) so the F13 came very handy as a "refresher". I was lucky to get accepted in the convoy - big thank you to @alshamsim.
The F13 drives are an excellent test of offroad skills - challenging track in technical terrain, designed to get you stuck. Unfortunately given the above sometimes it's the machine that takes the toll - but if you are a 10+ with all the bumpers still on it means you have not tried hard enough :)
This time I took Karol with me - he had a lot of fun watching all the action. Sadly he refused to leave the car due to "hot sand", so my rescue score remained at 0. :)))
We covered 23km (pretty impressive!), in 3h (2h moving).
See you in the sand!!

The drive was planned for the afternoon & I coud not attend due to a previous commitment
, but then it changed to the morning
& I got a seat, whoop whoop
.
We met at the meeting point, did the usual drills & caught up, there were new inters & newbies, but that is what the ALMOST family is about, it grows.
@alshamsi_m explained the drive, "very simple", you get stuck, next car overtakes, inter does the rescue, simple as that, what can go wrong
. Newbies were infront, @brett was inmfront of the last newbies, followed by all the inters. The advance was floating, yes, the was no marshalls
.
Within the fist few minutes it was chaos, cars got stuck, people lost the route & @alshamsi_m was having fun. There were inter going left & right to rescue the stuck cars while the convoy kept going. I was able to assist with a self rescue, then heading out to catch up with the convoy. The convoy stopped for a quick regroup & the tally was already about 17 stucks plus
. We headed off again & not long it was business as usual. @mpodroid did a rescue, but ended up going in the wrong he wrong direction, helped him to get back on track & continued to catch up with the convoy. Then it was my turn
, came over a small dune & ended up in a very sharps V ditch, long story short, @CARLOSS came to my rescue & we were good to go, catching up with the convoy.
We moved over to area 2 & not long it was chaos again, I helped with a pop-out, then there was technical stuck, which turned to be not that technical, when everybody left I managed to get
, luckily @CARLOSS was there again to rescue me, thanx again buddy.
Overall it was another successful Friday the 13th drive
. Thank you @alshamsi_m for organizing the drive, the advance guys & other inters for support. Till we meet in the sand again, stay safe.
Greetings
