Many off-roaders confront this kind of problem if they drive with a low pressure tire. The first thing comes in mind is to change the tire which could take between 30 to 1 hour for un-experienced driver and for some it is the end of the world. Where actually it takes from 5 to 10 minutes to any member in our club to solve this problem and continue the drive.

Special Thanks to RAYAN who managed to make DOUBLE POPOUT which is not common and the most important thing that he made it with Cooper STT. Defiantly he broke all the records.

The list of tools you have to have to recover from a pop out
1. Jack
2. Jack board
3. Shovel
4. Air Valve key
5. Air Gage
6. Air Compressor with 72 air flow and above

Image

- Once you have the pop out, stop the car slowly and try to keep it in a straight ground to be easy for you to start working on it

Image

- Keep air valve in the six o’clock position like the above picture which is the best but if you can’t keep it in any position but not 12 o’clock … there reason is to give the Air Compressor the chance to push the air inside but in 12 o’clock … the air will escape.

Image

- Remove the Air Pin so you can give a fast air flow to the tire

Image

- You can use any board or jack but we use the flat because it is easy and powerful

Image

- Fix the jack under the chassis or a strong point and try to avoid the body or weak joints

Image

Image

- Check that the Jack is in good position and not tend to move

Image

- As you can see … there a big space between the tire and the rims . so after you left the car with the jack and you feel that the tire is still not free then you need to use the shavel

- When you chose a shovel try to find a light one with wide and a bit deep so taking the sand would be much easier
- It is a good idea when you work with your tools to keep them in a vertical position so they won’t lose during the process

- Okey start digging to free up your tire

Image

- You can see that the tire is free now

Image

- This is a different angel to see that the tire is free
- Important note: never ever put your legs or arms below the rims or the tires while the process because the jack might fail at anytime and then we have another kind of problem

Image

- Now it is time to use the air compressor

Image

- You can start cleaning the rims from sand to make it softer for the tire to go back also applying a little water is good too … don’t you lubricants which might affect the tire or accumulate more sand

Image

- Start Filling Air

Image

- Never put your fingers between the tire and the rims while the air compressor is filling to check the air flow.. it is not a good idea

Image

- Hold the tire to make sure that it is getting close to the rim and the air is filling inside , once you feel that it griped then leave it alone.
- Strong power is not the key factor in this position you just need to make sure that air is not leaking from the sides that is all

Image

- You can see that the gap is closing and soon you will hear the POP OUT sound which means that the tire is back to the normal

Image

- Adjust your air pressure to the old reading and start your drive again
- It is a good idea to keep your air pressure 2 bar above the old reading if you keep having pop out from the same tire in the same trip
- You may experience a strong vibration after you fill your tires and go on road, you don’t need to worry it is just that some of the sand went inside your tires and you need to take it to the tire shop and ask him to open it and take out the sand it is a 10 min job which will cost you around 10 dhs.

At the End, We hope this is a useful topic for our members to survive this kind of incident while off-roading
