Good morning almosters

Suggestion 🚩

There is always a high demand to join the drives, but some drivers are overqualified for certain trips and are left waiting for an opportunity that matches their drives level. 🥹

I have a suggestion for this issue.

Currently, each drive has the following categories:
* Marshals
* Newbies (less than X drives)
* Rescue & Support

Why not add a “ *Bonus category”* with _limited seats_ for those who are overqualified for the drive. This could include newbies with more than X drives, intermediates, or others.

On the convoy drive day, those “ *Bonus* ” drivers would be *placed after the sweeper* and would be responsible for supporting themselves.

In this way, there would be no additional burden on the support team and enjoyment of the drive would be enlarged.

Have a great day

Hello all,

Interesting but I must admit I have a different view on the topic:

- If the "bonus drivers" have to support themselves maybe better they just arrange a private drive between them and have fun ... at the end it is the same. Maybe there should be somewhere a "non official" section for members who want to drive privately to agree what to do. Again, this should be outside "Almost responsibility"

- I am personally against increasing the number of cars in the convoy in any form, at the end the more cars there more issues, always, regardless of the drivers level, we are all at risk of mechanical problems, ...

- I agree with you that it would be great to have more drives every weekend and for different levels to give more people the chance to drive. The key of course is Marshall´s availability, at the end this is a unpaid weekend hobbie for them ... maybe a solution could be to allow one Marshall only per convoy if it had enough interm/advance support to make it safe. I know it has the risk of "what if" the Marshall has a problem ... but we would all need to understand that this might happen and the drive could come to an end earlier.

- "bonus drivers" looking after themselves, if you are in the convoy you are in the convoy, we enter the desert together and we leave together, do you really think that if a "bonus driver" has a problem the convoy is not going to stop to help???

Again, just my view on the topic ...

Hi Massaleh

interesting idea

but you say it would not be a burden for the support team (and marshal) who then would take responibility when something goes wrong ?

the drive registration process and number of vehicals in the convoy is for a good reason - the numbers are manageable for the organising marshal and the support team present.

something to think about
Until the next Adventure
